Faith in Action
…is a component of the Community Ministry committee. Faith in Action is an ecumenical partnership between St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church and the Unitarian Universalist Church of the North Hills, whose purpose is to gain awareness about the ways in which our society falls short of God’s desire of justice for all and to encourage intentional advocacy to address these shortcomings. Faith in Action sponsors public forums that inform the larger community about social justice issues and inspires us in creative ways to address them.
Internal to Trinity’s adult programming, Faith in Action hosts a synod-wide book study group that focuses on learning more about racism in our society. The book group meets on Zoom and is open to anyone in the congregation and the local community. With Community Ministry, Faith in Action is also sponsors a refugee family through Jewish Family and Community Services (JFCS). In conjunction with Christian Formation, Trinity also sponsors an adult Sunday forum on the ELCA Social Statements.
